What is the CHW Mentorship?

The CHW Mentorship Program is designed to foster the professional growth and development of emerging
leaders in community health. Running from May 2026 to October 2026, the program pairs mentees (aspiring or early career Community Health Workers and related roles) with experienced CHW leaders and allied health professionals to offer guidance, support, and resources that advance career journeys in community health and health equity.

Program Structure

The intent of the CHW Mentorship Program is for participants to commit fully to the mentoring experience and capitalize on opportunities for professional growth. Mentors and mentees will be matched according to aligned interests, skills, and goals based on information provided in the Mentor and Mentee Application Forms.

Mentorship Program Schedule:

2025-2026

Kick off Event:

Scheduled for Wednesday, May 14, 2026 (in person). Match announcements are made prior to the kick off; attendance is strongly encouraged. Mentees are encouraged to contact mentors once matches are announced to coordinate meeting at the kick off and to agree on cadence, communication norms, and initial goals.

2025-2026

Periodic Checkpoints:

Participants will receive brief email questionnaires at approximately the one, three, and six month marks to share feedback or raise concerns. For questions at any time, contact the CHW Mentorship Program Committee (see Contact Information).

2025-2026

Closing Event:

Held in October 2026, the closing event offers time for networking and a program recap with all mentors and mentees. Details will be communicated closer to the date. At the conclusion of the program, a final questionnaire will invite participants to revisit initial goals, reflect on
progress, and provide feedback to inform future program cycles.
