In this powerful moment captured at the Center for Health Equity and Community Wellness (CHEC), we proudly recognize Ali ABY Muhammed, a true champion in the fields of emergency triage, addiction care, homelessness support, and mental health crisis intervention.
Ali stands among peers, not just as a Community Health Worker, but as a lifesaving force in our communities. As a Narcan Specialist, Suicide and Homicide Ideation Response Counselor, and Red Cross CPR Instructor, he has tirelessly served on the front lines—often in the shadows—providing care where it’s most needed, to those too often overlooked.
His work extends from Pine Street Inn, where he has saved lives directly in crisis situations, to McLean Hospital, Brigham and Women’s, and beyond, shaping compassionate, culturally responsive care systems that truly meet people where they are.
Ali exemplifies what it means to be a trauma-informed, harm-reduction-driven, recovery-centered healer. His contributions to the Community Health Worker Workforce Development are not just impactful—they are transformational.
To walk alongside Ali is to walk with someone who sees dignity in every human being. This photo captures more than a group of graduates or professionals—it captures the spirit of service, advocacy, and healing.
